Erika Knight is a much respected knitwear and crochet designer in her own right, as well as a sought-after fashion and crafts consultant, focusing on menswear, womenswear, children, home and accessories. Erika has created knitwear ranges for many top brands including M&S, Whistles, Edina Ronay and Nicole Farhi in the UK, J. Crew and Gap in the US and Country Road in Australia. Through her work as a fashion forecaster, she has an uncanny knack of identifying and encapsulating forthcoming trends.
For many years Erika has been working tirelessly towards a greater understanding and accessibility within the crafts arena, bringing it to a new generation. Through her work as a key consultant to many design and craft companies she has sought to align the fashion and crafts worlds. Her role as key consultant to Coats included the revamp of several of their brands.
The profile of knitting and other crafts has never been higher than it is now, and Erika has played a major role in this renaissance – she is seen by many as a knitting guru for her creativity, knowledge and vision. Crochet Workshop is Erika’s fourteenth book to be published by Quadrille. In an exciting new developement for 2011, Erika has launched her own range of hand knit yarns. Erika designs and sources all their yarn ranges, working with spinners and yarn designers on technical specifications and selecting the colour palettes.
